A set of 6 OEM Bosch ignition coils
Direct ignition coils are responsible for transferring power to the spark plug. With high mileage, ignition coils can wear out causing misfires and poor engine performance. While ignition coils can be replaced as needed we have always recommended replacing all the ignition coils together as doing so will ensure all cylinders will perform evenly.
Note: This newly designed Bosch coil does not have a “snap” when pressing into place. The new design uses a contact spring on the spark plug tip that grips the spark plug just as good or better than the original design.
Direct Ignition Coil Kit
An ignition coil is a vital car component that produces high-voltage electricity to generate a spark at the spark plug, igniting the air-fuel mixture within the engine cylinder. When an ignition coil fails, it can cause engine misfires, rough idling, reduced power, an illuminated check engine light, difficulty starting the engine, and sometimes backfiring. These issues arise from weak or inconsistent sparks produced by the malfunctioning coil.
Direct Ignition Coil Kit Failure Symptoms
- Engine misfires: The most prominent sign, causing the engine to jerk or shudder, especially when accelerating, due to inconsistent combustion in one or more cylinders
- Rough idling: The engine vibrates or shakes noticeably when idling due to uneven firing of cylinders
- Decreased engine power: The car may feel sluggish or lack acceleration due to incomplete combustion
