This Genuine BMW connector secures the shift lever support arm to the rear of the transmission housing. It plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate gear engagement and shifting feel.

It should be replaced whenever the shifter assembly is being serviced, as worn connectors can cause play in the shift linkage or vague gear engagement.
