Import Shipments for Repairs & Returns

Customers shipping parts to GEMS autocraft for repair or return must ensure all customs paperwork is properly completed. We do not cover, manage, or assume responsibility for duties, taxes, or brokerage charges associated with imported shipments.

• All import documents must clearly state: “Used automotive part for repair and return – not for resale.”
• We strongly recommend declaring the shipment as a temporary import with an appropriate value and using HS Code 9801.10.00.
• Any shipments that arrive with unpaid import charges will be refused unless pre-approved by GEMS autocraft in writing.
• If we are required to pay import charges on your behalf, you will be billed for the full amount plus a 20% handling surcharge.
• We recommend retaining your UPS or carrier payment receipt if you intend to file for reimbursement with CBSA after service is completed.
