Product Information

This OE VDO mass air flow (MAF) sensor is specifically designed to monitor the airflow through your BMW’s secondary air injection system. It uses a hot film sensing element to detect the volume of air passing through the system and communicates this data to the ECU to ensure proper emissions control during cold starts. This supports the catalytic converter’s efficiency by injecting fresh air into the exhaust system for a cleaner burn.

Over time, secondary air MAF sensors can degrade due to heat and particulate buildup, resulting in emissions-related fault codes or reduced system effectiveness. Replacing a failing sensor helps maintain emissions compliance and smooth cold-start operation.
