Product Information

Genuine BMW clutch kit designed for compatible BMW models equipped with the SMG transmission. The kit includes the clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing, providing the primary components required to restore proper clutch engagement and torque transfer between the engine and transmission.

The clutch disc and pressure plate are wear components that gradually deteriorate through normal use. A worn clutch may begin to slip under acceleration, allowing engine speed to rise without a corresponding increase in vehicle speed. Other symptoms can include difficulty engaging gears, abnormal clutch-related noises or a burning smell caused by excessive clutch slip.

When replacing the clutch, the flywheel should also be inspected for excessive wear or play. A worn dual-mass flywheel can affect clutch operation and may reduce the service life of newly installed clutch components.

About Genuine BMW

Genuine BMW parts are the same components used during factory production. When you order a Genuine BMW part, you're receiving the exact item sourced by BMW dealerships — built to BMW’s precise engineering and quality standards.

While BMW engineers each part, many are manufactured by well-known OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) such as Lemförder, ZF, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Zimmermann, Siemens VDO, and Corteco. These parts may even arrive in their OEM-branded packaging, alongside a BMW logo.

Look for OE tags throughout our listings to identify direct from BMW components — helping you save without compromising quality. Visit our FAQ for more insight on OEM vs. OE terminology.
