This OE Delphi direct ignition coil delivers the required voltage to fire your spark plugs. When worn or damaged, it can cause misfires, hesitation, or reduced engine performance.
If you're diagnosing a misfire, try swapping coils to another cylinder — if the fault follows the coil, it's a clear sign of failure. Replacing coils in sets is often recommended to ensure smooth operation across all cylinders.
Use dielectric grease on installation to protect the spark plug boot, prevent moisture, and ensure long-term electrical contact.
Note: On N55 engines, some surface corrosion on the coil heat shields is normal due to moisture around the valve cover. This does not affect performance. Refer to BMW SIB 121515 for reference.
