This gasket seals the oil cooler to the oil filter housing and is a known failure point on many BMW engines. Over time, the factory gasket becomes brittle and shrinks, leading to oil seepage at the housing seam.
This upgraded Elring version is made from FPM-PX (fluorine rubber) for enhanced resistance to heat and oil exposure, providing longer-lasting protection compared to the original HNBR type. Highly recommended during oil filter housing service.
Commonly used on BMW N52, N54, and N55 engines. Always inspect this gasket when servicing the oil filter housing or cooler. Replace if hardened or visibly deformed.
