Product Information
Complete VANOS external kit for your E60/E61 M5 or E63/E64 M6
This package provides the essential components to service the VANOS pressure accumulator system for the S85 V10 engine used in the E60/E61 M5 and E63/E64 M6. It includes the pressure accumulator reservoir, mounting bracket, complete pressure hard lines and hoses, sealing rings, O-ring, banjo bolts, and mounting hardware to fully refresh the high-pressure VANOS oil supply circuit.
Notes:
This kit does not include the four VANOS solenoids (VVT units) used in this system. These are serviced separately and can be found here: VANOS Solenoids - Genuine BMW 11367841072.
Why service the VANOS accumulator system?
The VANOS accumulator maintains hydraulic pressure for the variable valve timing system, particularly during cold starts and rapid engine load changes. Over time, the accumulator housing can corrode, the internal reservoir can degrade, and the pressure hard lines or fittings may rust or crack at their connection points. Under high load, the flexible sections of the oil lines are also known to rupture. Servicing the system as a complete assembly helps prevent VANOS pressure loss, which can lead to oil starvation and compromised valve timing control, especially during high-RPM operation.
Common symptoms of VANOS accumulator system wear:
-
Oil leaks at the accumulator, banjo fittings, or hard line connections.
-
VANOS fault codes or inconsistent cam timing behavior.
-
Rattling or pressure loss during cold starts caused by degraded accumulator performance.
Assembled by GEMS autocraft:
This comprehensive kit has been curated by GEMS autocraft to provide all the mechanical, sealing, and hydraulic components needed to complete the job in one visit. The selection reflects the exact parts we use in our in-house workshop services, chosen for proper fit and long-term dependability.
Along with the primary components, we include supporting items that experience has shown are best replaced at the same time. This ensures a thorough service, preserves system integrity, and helps prevent repeated labor down the line.
Our approach removes uncertainty and streamlines the process. With every critical part included, the service can be completed correctly the first time.
