This OE Delphi direct ignition coil delivers the necessary voltage to fire your spark plugs. When worn or damaged, it can cause engine misfires, hesitation, or reduced performance. If you're diagnosing a misfire, try swapping coils to see if the fault follows — a reliable method for identifying a bad coil.
We recommend using dielectric grease when installing new coils. This helps protect the spark plug boot, prevents moisture buildup, and ensures a secure connection.
Note: On N55 engines, moisture can sometimes cause corrosion on the coil heat shields due to valve cover design. This does not affect performance. Refer to BMW Service Bulletin SIB 121515 for more details.
