This aftermarket clutch switch from VEMO is designed to replace the factory-installed unit located near the clutch pressure hose assembly. It plays a key role in your BMW’s safety and engine control systems by monitoring clutch pedal position.
The switch prevents the engine from starting unless the clutch pedal is fully depressed and may also signal the ECU to limit engine revs when the clutch is engaged. If you're able to start the vehicle without pressing the clutch, or you're experiencing issues related to clutch engagement sensing, this switch may be faulty and should be replaced.
