Service Description

This is a Repair & Rebuild Service for the BMW S85 Idle Control Device (also known as the Idle Control Valve or Idle Controller) — a critical component responsible for maintaining stable idle operations under 3,000 RPM in your E60, E61 M5 or E63, E64 M6.

  • You must ship your original valve(s) to us for diagnosis and repair.

  • The service includes:
    • Complete teardown and internal inspection
    • Motor and gear replacement
    • Electric connector lead replacement
    • Fault diagnosis and analysis
    • Internal cleaning and reassembly
    • Final functional testing on our in-house bench rig

  • Repair turnaround time: 4 business days from the time we receive your unit.

Idle Control Valve Failure Symptoms

  • Random or unstable idle
  • Idle not holding steady at 1,000 RPM

Service Recommendations

Each S85 engine is equipped with two idle control devices (bank 1 and bank 2). We strongly recommend servicing both units together. To do so, adjust the quantity to 2 before adding to cart.

Shipping Instructions

You are responsible for shipping your valve(s) to us for diagnosis and repair. Return shipping from us back to you is calculated at checkout and included in your total.

Please package your valve(s) securely to prevent damage in transit. We are not responsible for parts damaged due to poor packaging.

Include a printed copy of your order confirmation email, or clearly write your order number and contact information inside the box.
