Product Information

This complete oil change kit is designed specifically for BMW S55 engines, commonly found in F80 M3 and F82/F83 M4 models, as well as applicable N55-equipped F87 M2 models using the same oil filter setup. It provides all required components to perform a proper oil service and maintain optimal engine performance.

Engine oil is critical to the longevity of high-performance engines like the S55. While factory intervals may suggest longer service periods, regular oil changes every 8,000 km (5,000 miles) are strongly recommended to prevent sludge buildup, maintain lubrication efficiency, and reduce long-term wear.

Fitment note: This kit is intended for vehicles produced after 09/2014 with the updated oil pan design. Always verify compatibility before installation.

Installation notes: For vehicles equipped with an aluminum oil pan, the drain plug should be torqued to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). The oil filter cap is also torqued to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Use the appropriate oil filter cap removal tool (BMW special tool equivalent to 119 240).

Why regular oil service matters: Over time, engine oil degrades, collects contaminants, and loses its protective properties. Replacing it with fresh oil ensures proper lubrication, temperature control, and overall engine efficiency.

Common signs service is required: dark or dirty oil, engine knocking or ticking noises, increased engine temperature, reduced fuel efficiency, exhaust smoke, or maintenance warning lights.

For best results, consider using an engine flush prior to oil changes to remove internal deposits and improve oil system cleanliness.
