Features include an “Aero-Flow” lightweight bar construction for maximum strength and flow, cast end tanks with 100% TIG-welded construction, and a satin black finish for enhanced corrosion and debris protection. OEM-style inlet and outlet connections along with CNC-machined mounting brackets ensure a secure and straightforward installation. Note: minor trimming of the plastic shroud is required; installation instructions are included. Each unit is individually pressure and leak tested.

An engine oil cooler is a heat exchanger designed to stabilize oil temperatures and prevent oil breakdown under heavy load. It circulates oil through heat-conductive passages exposed to air or coolant, depending on design. As synthetic oil can degrade above 150°C (300°F) and fail completely before 260°C (500°F), maintaining proper oil temperature is crucial for performance and longevity.
Air-to-oil coolers require steady airflow to function efficiently, while water-to-oil designs use coolant flow to dissipate heat, benefiting packaging and integration in the engine bay. These systems often include thermostatic regulation to prevent overcooling.
Engine Oil Cooler Failure Symptoms
External Leaks: Common in air-to-oil designs due to exposure to road debris.
Corrosion/Rust: Especially at fittings, can lead to leakage or loss of serviceability.
Internal Failure: Most common in water-to-oil coolers—coolant and oil may mix, resulting in a milky oil appearance and potential engine failure.
Seal Leaks: Aging or degraded seals can cause leaks of either coolant or oil; always replace seals during cooler service.
