CIC Retrofit for E6X

Bring your E6X into the modern era without sacrificing its factory DNA. Our OE CIC retrofit replaces outdated CCC/iDrive hardware with lightning-fast response, a high-resolution display, and up-to-date 3D maps.

CIC delivers near-instant startup, smoother controller feel, and native support for Bluetooth audio, USB media, voice control, and reverse camera integration. (Add a Combox for full streaming, album art, and enhanced connectivity.) Everything is seamlessly integrated no cutom harnesses, no loose modules.

Why make the switch? CCC failures, frozen knobs, and low-res maps are increasingly common. CIC is the OE-level answer that restores confidence, usability, and even resale appeal.

What’s included: CIC head unit, 8.8" LCD, updated iDrive controller, FSC codes (Maps/Voice where needed), OE looms/adapters, Combox or MULF2 when applicable, plus full coding and validation.

After install, we code Navigation/Voice FSCs, MOST audio, PDC overlays, camera, TPMS, telephone, and cluster prompts. Coding backups are saved for future service.

Wiring, Ports & Cables

The OE retrofit loom CIC interfaces directly with the car’s power supply, CAN bus communication lines, and the MOST optical network required for audio and navigation functions.

The loom is wrapped in Tesa tape with heat-shrinked splices for mechanical protection. The MOST fiber ring is checked for optical continuity during installation, and coding data is backed up for recovery if needed.

LCI Climate Control (IKHA) – Required for Full CIC Integration

The LCI Climate Controller (IKHA) is a mandatory upgrade when converting from CCC to CIC. The older pre-LCI panel differs in both physical size and functionality:

• Fitment issue: The pre-LCI Climate Controller has smaller buttons, leaving visible free space when used with CIC trim.


• Vent selection: Pre-LCI buttons cannot control airflow distribution under CIC. In CIC, vent selection is made on-screen — the controller must send the correct trigger signal. This button exists only on the LCI version.


• Compressor behavior: When CIC Climate Controller is installed, the A/C compressor will not engage unless pre-LCI vehicle wiring is modified. We rework the circuit board inside the LCI Climate Controller so it becomes plug-and-play in our retrofit kit. Without this modification, the compressor remains disabled.

iDrive Controller Options

Option A — Keep pre-LCI controller: No console work required. Fully supported after coding.

Option B — Upgrade to LCI MENU-button controller: Requires adapting the center console trim (precise cut/fit). We supply or install the OE mounting hardware below.

We perform the console adaptation cleanly — templated cut, deburred edges, hidden fasteners — so the result looks factory. If you prefer a replacement console trim instead of cutting, we can source the correct piece by VIN and finish.

Center Stack Trim – CCC (2-Slot) → CIC (1-Slot)

Important: The original CCC system uses a two-slot while CIC consolidates into a single-slot. This requires replacing the center stack trim/bezel with the CIC single-entry design. It’s a purely physical trim update, not an electronic change.

Trim varies by model and interior finish. We source correct OE parts by VIN to ensure perfect fitment and clip alignment. For M5, a single standard trim applies. For M6, one-piece CIC trim is used, available in several finishes.

Cosmetic refinishing (e.g., brushed aluminum, custom carbon overlays) can also be arranged if replacement trims are not available.

A complete CIC retrofit requires coding of all related modules — including the CIC head unit, FSC feature activation, MOST bus integration, and the LCI IKHA climate control.
