This Elring gasket seals the oil filter housing stand to the cylinder head and is one of the most common sources of oil leaks on BMW engines. If your filter housing is removed for any reason, this gasket must be replaced.
This version is an updated design made from high-temp FPM-PX (fluorine rubber), replacing the older HNBR type. FPM-PX is more resistant to heat and oil exposure, which extends the life of the seal and improves long-term reliability.
