A complete service kit for when your BMW's 6HP19 transmission Mechatronic unit is removed from the transmission, including required replacement seals, filter/pan assembly, fluid, and hardware to complete the service.
Mechatronic issues are the most common source of performance problems in the 6HP transmission. The most basic source of performance issues starts with the seals which seal the Mechatronic unit to the body of the transmission. A leak or defect in these seals can cause a pressure loss which causes shift quality problems.
More advanced issues with the 6HP19 transmission stem from the Mechatronic unit itself. Solenoid failure and electronic issues are relatively common. In order to address either issue the Mechatronic will require removal and all seals will need to be replaced.
This kit has been designed to handle the most basic Mechatronic service to complete replacement. All hardware, seals, and filter/fluids are included to make for a pain free service of the 6HP19 Mechatronic unit.
Transmission Service Kit
The transmission oil filter prevents harmful particulate matter from entering the transmission valve body and damaging valve body bores, solenoids, and other fluid passages. Foreign particles in valve body bores, solenoids, or passages will cause shifting issues. Some of these issues include delayed shifts, harsh shifts, or no gear engagement in extreme cases. Clogged filters can reduce fluid volume and flow in the transmission causing starvation of the transmission pump. This can be identified by an RPM-dependent whine from the transmission bell housing area. The transmission oil filter should be changed during any fluid service, and it is critical to replace the filter if major transmission components are replaced such as the torque converter, transmission pump, or transmission valve body.
