Genuine BMW CIC Professional head unit, part number 65129248389. The CIC (Car Information Computer) is the central infotainment unit for the BMW Professional Navigation and iDrive system, managing navigation, media, vehicle settings, display output and communication with other supported vehicle systems.
This later-generation head unit is commonly used when converting compatible BMW E60, E61, E63 and E64 models from the earlier CCC iDrive system to CIC. Compared with the earlier CCC platform, CIC provides significantly faster system operation, improved graphics, higher-resolution navigation, hard-drive-based map storage and the later BMW iDrive interface while maintaining integration with compatible factory BMW equipment.
The CIC Professional head unit connects to the CIC CID display through the dedicated LVDS display cable and integrates with the vehicle's factory MOST optical network and other required vehicle connections.
For CCC-to-CIC retrofit applications, additional CIC-specific components are required, including a compatible CIC CID display, LVDS display cable, CID power / K-CAN connector configuration, CIC iDrive controller and the appropriate vehicle-specific center stack components.
