Liqui Moly Top Tec 6200 0W-20 (LM22044) is a fully synthetic, low-friction motor oil formulated for BMW engines that meet the Longlife-17 FE+ specification. This oil helps minimize the risk of Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) — a phenomenon where the air-fuel mixture ignites prematurely at low speeds, potentially causing engine knock and damage.
By using this specifically formulated oil, LSPI risks are significantly reduced, ensuring smoother combustion and enhanced engine protection. It also improves efficiency and provides superior wear resistance under all operating conditions.
Note: BMW Longlife-17 FE+ oil is not backward compatible and must never be used in engines requiring earlier BMW Longlife standards such as LL-01 or LL-04.
