Oil filter housing gasket leaks are a well-known issue on BMW's N5X family of engines. These leaks can cause a mess and, if ignored, may result in serious engine damage. A leaking gasket can saturate the serpentine belt, causing it to swell and slip behind the crank pulley. This can shred the belt and force it through the crank seal—an expensive and preventable failure.
The soft rubber gasket that seals the housing to the cylinder head hardens and shrinks over time, losing its ability to maintain a leak-free seal. Prompt replacement of this gasket is essential to avoid long-term issues. This kit includes all necessary OE or equivalent components to fully service the oil filter housing and surrounding systems.

Note: N54 engines require removal of the intake manifold to access the rear oil filter housing bolt. This kit includes the required gaskets to complete that service without compromise.
