The CSF Race-Spec Engine Oil Cooler is a direct-fit cooling upgrade for the BMW E90, E92 and E93 M3 equipped with the high-revving S65 V8 engine.

Developed in collaboration with high-performance supercharger-system manufacturer VF Engineering, this oil cooler is designed to provide increased cooling efficiency, durability and reliability during spirited street driving, track use and other demanding operating conditions.

CSF replaces the factory mechanically joined and tack-welded construction with fully TIG-welded cast aluminum end tanks. This stronger design is better suited to the elevated temperatures, pressure and vibration experienced during sustained high-load operation.

The heavy-duty turbulated bar-and-plate core provides eight rows of cooling and uses a high-density, multi-louvered fin design to maximize heat-transfer surface area. Its tapered cast end tanks follow the contour of the factory bumper, providing precise fitment without interfering with compatible aftermarket front splitters.

Cooling Performance

The eight-row bar-and-plate core increases the available cooling surface area while providing the strength required for performance applications. Internal turbulators direct the oil through the core to improve heat transfer and help maintain more consistent engine oil temperatures under sustained load.

Improved oil-temperature control is especially valuable during extended high-RPM driving, track sessions and supercharged applications that generate greater thermal load than a factory vehicle.

Installation

The oil cooler is designed as a true drop-in replacement and requires no cutting or permanent modifications. It accepts the original oil-line connections, mounting brackets and factory shroud ducting.

The tapered cast end tanks fit closely within the contour of the original bumper, helping preserve clearance for compatible aftermarket front splitters. Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct positioning, secure oil-line connections and proper clearance around surrounding components.
