Regular transmission service is crucial for maintaining the performance and longevity of your BMW’s automatic transmission. Despite BMW’s “lifetime fill” claims, periodic fluid and filter changes are essential for cooling, lubrication, and the prevention of internal wear.

This kit is designed for a safe and effective drain and fill service, replacing the fluid in the pan and filter without disturbing the torque converter. Avoid transmission flush machines on these units, as improper use can cause damage—drain and fill is the safest method.

ZF recommends servicing the 8HP transmission every 8 years or 80,000 km (50,000 miles), which supersedes BMW's “lifetime” interval.

Kit includes: 7 liters of Liqui Moly Top Tec ATF 1800, ZF automatic transmission oil pan with filter, pan gasket, bolts, and fill plug.

The transmission oil filter helps prevent harmful particles from damaging the transmission valve body and solenoids. Neglecting service can result in delayed or harsh shifting, and in severe cases, loss of gear engagement. Replace the filter during any major transmission service or if replacing major components.
