The coil spring shim is a small but important suspension component positioned between the coil spring and its mounting surface. It helps the spring sit correctly, reduces metal-to-metal contact and assists with noise and vibration isolation in the suspension assembly.

When replacing suspension components, smaller wear items such as coil spring shims should be inspected and replaced as needed.
