Genuine BMW remanufactured GS6-53BZ-TJGC six-speed manual gearbox assembly, originally fitted to manual-transmission BMW E9X M3 models equipped with the S65 engine.
Condition: Genuine BMW remanufactured exchange unit. The transmission is rebuilt and restored by BMW rather than supplied as a used or aftermarket replacement. Cosmetic marks may be present from the remanufacturing and handling process without affecting fitment or operation.
This transmission is also commonly used for BMW S85 manual-conversion applications. When installed in an E60, E61, E63 or E64 M5/M6, additional application-specific components and modifications are required, including the clutch and flywheel, shifter assembly, wiring, driveshaft and supporting installation hardware.
The GS6-53BZ-TJGC was originally equipped with an external transmission oil pump and cooler system in the E9X M3. When this cooling system is not retained during an S85 conversion, the unused cooler and oil-pump ports must be properly sealed.
Please note: This listing is for the remanufactured gearbox assembly only. Clutch, flywheel, shifter components, wiring harness, driveshaft, transmission fluid and manual-swap installation parts are not included unless specifically stated.

BMW supplied part number 23002283601 as a remanufactured six-speed transmission. A Genuine BMW gearbox core is disassembled, inspected, cleaned and rebuilt to restore proper operation while retaining the original housing, fitment and OE design.
This provides an OE-based replacement without relying on an unknown used gearbox or a non-original aftermarket assembly.
This product is offered with two core charge options, depending on the return status of your original transmission.
Core Deposit (Refundable)
This option includes the core deposit. Select this in most cases.
The deposit is refunded once your original transmission has been returned and accepted as a rebuildable core.
Core Already Returned (No Deposit)
Select this only if your original transmission has already been returned to us or is being returned at the time of local pickup or installation.
The returned core must be a complete GS6-53BZ-TJGC gearbox assembly. Transmissions with a cracked housing, missing internal components, severe impact damage, fire damage or other major damage may not qualify for a full core refund.
