This OE-quality set includes a valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals. BMW inline 6-cylinder engines are known for valve cover gasket leaks, often leading to oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold and creating a burning oil smell. Failing spark plug tube seals can cause oil to pool in the spark plug wells, potentially damaging ignition coils and causing misfires.
Installation Tip: For M54 engines, it's recommended to apply high-temperature black RTV sealant to the front and rear half-moon sections of the cylinder head and replace the (15) 11121437395 valve cover seal washers.
Engine Valve Cover Gasket Set
This gasket seals the valve cover to the cylinder head to prevent oil and vapors from escaping. It must compress to fill surface imperfections. Most modern gaskets are made of rubber or reinforced materials, while older cars may use cork, requiring careful installation to avoid crushing.
