The NRW-Design Billet Aluminum Spark Plug Tube Kit is a permanent, direct-fit upgrade for the aging factory plastic spark plug tubes used on BMW S65 V8 and S85 V10 engines.
The spark plug tubes seal the openings between the valve covers and cylinder heads, helping prevent engine oil from entering the spark plug wells. Over time, the original plastic tubes can become brittle, distorted, cracked or loose after repeated exposure to engine heat, potentially allowing oil to collect around the ignition coils and spark plugs.
Each NRW-Design replacement tube is CNC-machined from solid 6061-T6 billet aluminum for superior strength, dimensional stability and long-term durability. Unlike the original plastic components, the billet tubes resist deformation and maintain a consistent sealing surface in demanding street, track and motorsport environments.
An anodized finish provides additional protection against heat, oxidation and corrosion. The tubes are compatible with original BMW valve-cover gaskets and NRW-Design valve-cover gasket solutions, allowing them to be installed during routine valve-cover service or a complete engine reseal.
The billet spark plug tubes install in place of the original plastic components beneath the valve covers. Installation requires removal of the corresponding valve covers and should be completed together with inspection or replacement of the surrounding valve-cover gaskets and seals.
Professional installation is recommended to ensure that every tube is fully seated, correctly aligned and properly sealed. All spark plug wells should be cleaned and inspected before the ignition coils and spark plugs are reinstalled.
