Product Information

The NRW-Design Silicone Throttle Body Coupler Kit is a durable, direct-fit replacement for the failure-prone factory rubber couplers used on BMW S65 V8 and S85 V10 engines.

The original couplers connect the individual throttle bodies to the intake plenum. With age and repeated exposure to engine-bay heat, the factory rubber can become brittle, permanently deformed or cracked, potentially allowing unmetered air to enter the intake system.

NRW-Design replaces the aging rubber components with high-performance silicone couplers engineered to withstand extreme heat, cold and pressure without cracking or losing their shape. The direct-fit design maintains the original positioning and is suitable for naturally aspirated and supercharged applications.

Both configurations include new lower worm-drive clamps. The S65 kit includes eight silicone couplers and eight lower clamps, while the S85 kit includes ten silicone couplers and ten lower clamps. The corresponding original BMW upper clamps are transferred to the new silicone couplers during installation.

Throttle Body Coupler Failure Symptoms

  • Visible cracking, splitting or deterioration of the factory rubber
  • Couplers becoming hard, brittle or permanently deformed
  • Vacuum leaks or unmetered air entering the intake system

Installation

The couplers install between the intake plenum and the individual throttle bodies in place of the original rubber components. The supplied worm-drive clamps are installed on the lower throttle-body connections, while the original BMW upper clamps are transferred to the new couplers.

Professional installation is recommended to ensure that every coupler is fully seated, correctly aligned and evenly clamped. All intake connections should be inspected for proper sealing before the engine is operated.

  • Select the correct S65IPC or S85IPC configuration before ordering.
