The CSF Complete High-Performance Cooling Package combines the primary cooling-system upgrades available for the 2008–2013 BMW E90, E92 and E93 M3 equipped with the high-revving S65 V8 engine.
Designed for restorations, performance builds, spirited street driving and track use, this package upgrades the engine coolant, engine oil and power steering cooling systems. A CSF dual-pass transmission oil cooler is also available for both seven-speed DCT and six-speed manual vehicles.
Seven-speed DCT vehicles must select the package with CSF-8042, as it replaces the factory DCT transmission oil cooler. Six-speed manual vehicles already use a factory transmission oil cooler and may select the package with or without CSF-8042. When selected for a manual vehicle, CSF-8042 replaces the original manual-transmission oil cooler with a higher-efficiency unit.
Each component is engineered specifically for the E9X M3 platform and retains the corresponding factory-style connections, mounting locations and surrounding original equipment.
The CSF radiator uses a 2-row, 42 mm aluminum core with exclusive B-Tube technology and ultra-efficient 6.5 mm multi-louvered fins. Its triple-pass structure directs coolant across the core three times before it exits, increasing exposure to the cooling surface and helping produce lower outlet temperatures.
Developed in collaboration with VF Engineering, the race-spec engine oil cooler replaces the factory mechanically joined construction with fully TIG-welded cast aluminum end tanks and a heavy-duty turbulated bar-and-plate core.
The CAB-brazed power steering cooler replaces the factory mechanically bonded core with a high-efficiency plate-type design using CSF's air-conditioning condenser technology.
The CSF 8042 is compatible with both seven-speed DCT and six-speed manual E9X M3 models. On either transmission configuration, it replaces the corresponding factory transmission oil cooler.
CSF-8042 is required with the seven-speed DCT package because it replaces the original DCT cooler. It is optional for six-speed manual vehicles, allowing owners to retain the factory manual-transmission cooler or upgrade to the CSF dual-pass design.
CSF operates ISO-certified manufacturing facilities and supplies cooling components to automotive manufacturers in the United States, Germany and Asia. Its performance cooling products are manufactured using the same production standards applied to its original-equipment cooling components.
CSF cooling products are subjected to rigorous quality-control procedures that may include hydrostatic testing, vacuum-decay testing and lifecycle testing to verify sealing, durability and long-term performance.
Each component is engineered for drop-in fitment using the applicable factory mounting points and connections. The radiator accepts the original coolant hoses, air-conditioning condenser, mounting brackets and fan shroud. The engine oil, power steering and transmission oil coolers retain their corresponding factory-style line connections and mounting locations.
Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct alignment, secure fluid connections, proper clearance and complete bleeding or fluid-level procedures for every affected system.
